FOTA PICNIC CONTEST
One of the most popular features of concerts at the Friends of the Arts venue within Planting Fields Arboretum is the ability to dine on the Lawn al fresco. Many supporters enjoy a quiet meal with friends in the light of a setting sun or the cool of the evening as the stars appear overhead, with the anticipation of a concert to follow.
Some of FOTA's supporters take the dining experience farther than others! It is not unusual to see a full dinner service laid out with candelabra, perhaps with an array of delicate Italian antipasta, German cold cuts or fine cheeses from France. In celebration of this enthusiasm, FOTA holds a Picnic Contest once a year on a designated evening, prior to that night's concert. All are welcome to enter, and entries are judged on taste, elegance and originality of theme by our willing volunteers.

This year's Picnic contest will be held on September 6, prior to the Taj Mahal and Phoebe Snow concert. Dig out those interesting recipes!
For those attending FOTA concerts who do not wish to bring their own food, please note that there is usually a concession near the FOTA Pavilion serving hot and cold food and beverages. Patron members and above are welcome to use the facilities of the nearby Festival Club.
