FOTA OPENING NIGHT GALA

FOTA's Opening Night Gala on Friday, June 20, heralded the start of the Long Island Summer Festival. Sometimes formal, sometimes relaxed, but always fun, this year's Gala was once again staged in the grounds of Planting Fields Arboretum close to the main FOTA Pavilion. Cocktails were at 5:30pm, followed by dinner.

The 2008 event honored Monte N. Redman, President and COO of Astoria Federal Savings. The Gala was followed by a much-anticipated performance by featured artist Emmylou Harris at 9:00pm.

Proceeds from the annual gala benefit FOTA's concerts and arts-in-education programs throughout the year.

FOTA thanks all those who attended the 2008 gala and who supported the event by way of donations for the silent auction. If you have never done so, please consider supporting this important event in 2009.
