  • 1. When do tickets go on sale?
    Tickets go on sale to FOTA MEMBERS ONLY in mid-May, and to NON-MEMBERS two weeks later (usually the first business day in June). In 2008 the dates are May 12 and May 26 respectively.

    2. How do I buy tickets?
    FOTA members can simply call the Box Office at (516) 922-0061, Monday to Friday 9:30-4:30. Handling charges are waived for FOTA MEMBERS when ordering directly through FOTA. Non-members can buy tickets through Ticketmaster or by mailing or faxing an order form to FOTA. Click on "buy tickets" on the page menu for links to an order form or to go to Ticketmaster.

    3. What if it rains?
    Concerts go on rain or shine. There are no refunds or exchanges on tickets. The pavilion is a covered area; the lawn seating is uncovered.
    We suggest purchasing pavilion seats, in case of rain.

    4. What time do the gates open?
    The gates open approx. 90 minutes prior to the concert. Sometimes opening the gates may be delayed to allow the artist(s) to complete their equipment set-up.

    5. Tickets for Children
    Kids-Go-Free on the Lawn!
    Children under the age of 12 are admitted to the lawn section for free when accompanied by a ticketed adult over the age of 18. Not valid for tent seating.

    6. Policy on patrons under the age of 18
    Patrons under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18.

    7. Is there a waiting list for tickets?
    At this time, we do not place names on a waiting list for tickets.

    8. Do I need to bring a chair?
    Chairs are provided inside the pavilion (metal folding chairs). Lawn patrons should bring a chair or blanket to sit on.

    9. Is there a dress code?
    Although there is no official dress code, style of dress varies. Because the concerts are outdoors, you should dress appropriately for the weather. Generally people wear sporty or casual clothes, shorts and jeans are often worn. Opening night is also the Gala Fundraiser. Gala patrons will be dressed accordingly.

    10. Is there a concession stand? Can I bring food?
    Concessions are available during the concert. Generally, the vendor has a variety of grilled items (burgers, hot dogs, chicken), salads, ice cream, cookies, soda, etc. Patrons may also pack a picnic to enjoy before or during the concert. Picnic tables are available to the side of the pavilion for patrons with pavilion seating. No food / drinks are allowed under the tent. If you are seated on the lawn bring your own blanket or chairs and picnic.

    11. Is smoking allowed?
    There is no smoking allowed under the pavilion or in the pavilion picnic area. We ask that patrons on the lawn be considerate to the other patrons around them.

    12. How far is it from the parking lot to the pavilion/lawn seating?
    Distance from the pavilion parking lot to the pavilion: approx 1/10 of a mile. Distance from the lawn parking lot to the lawn seating section: approx. 2/10 to 3/10 of a mile. Patrons often use a rolling basket or wagon to transport their chairs/blankets/picnics/kids.

    13. Can I bring my pet?
    Pets are not allowed on the grounds of the Planting Fields Arboretum State Park.

    14. Can I bring a group?
    Groups of 15 or more are eligible for a 15% discount on their tickets.
    Tickets must be bought in blocks of 15 or more. Call the box office at 516-922-0061 to order group tickets. Once tickets are purchased they are not refundable or exchangeable for any reason. We recommend seats inside the pavilion for groups.

    15. I have special seating needs
    Call the box office at 516-922-0061 and let them help you get the seating you need. The pavilion has a floor and is wheelchair accessible; please let the staff know what accommodations you will need. Lawn seating is a grassy area with access from a paved walkway and stone paths. Wheelchairs and scooters are NOT provided by the park. There is ADA parking - you must have proper parking tags to park in these spots.

    16. How do I book my group to perform?
    FOTA books national and international recording artists through professional agents only. Have your agent send a press kit/CD to:

    The Long Island Summer Festival runs late June to early September (depending on artists booked) and the Long Island Jazz Festival usually runs the first weekend in August. Materials for Summer 2009 can be sent in January/February 2009.
